It’s apparently Tottenham Hotspur Women Good News Saturday! Today, the Women’s Super League announced that Spurs co-managers Karen Hills and Juan Amoros have won Manager of the Month for September, taking home the prestigious award in the club’s first ever month in the top flight.

This is an impressive achievement, not least because Hills and Amoros beat out Arsenal’s Joe Montemurro, Manchester City’s Nick Cushing, and Chelsea manager Emma Hayes, all established managers of clubs that will probably finish at the very top of the league this year.
Spurs have had an impressive opening to their inaugural top flight campaign, first narrowly losing 1-0 to a very good Chelsea team in a match played at Stamford Bridge, and then picking up wins over Liverpool at the Hive, and West Ham at the London Stadium. Pretty, pretty good!
The season is young and there are lots of matches remaining, starting with hosting Manchester United tomorrow. No doubt there will be plenty of ups and downs as the season goes along. Even so, it’s nice that Hills and Amoros are getting recognition for the excellent job they’ve done under extraordinarily difficult circumstances.
