Ramble, juice, Tottenham, almonds

Hello, everyone!

We’ve got Lucy Quinn again at the top of the Hoddle. As you might recall, she scored the second in a 2-0 win over West Ham, and it was also her birthday that day.

Ramble of the Day

I’ve started the Hoddle earlier than usual, but I can’t say I’ve mustered up the energy to think. Plus, I’ve been good at thinking about topics for the Hoddle this week, and by that I mean that I didn’t leave to a very late hour, hoping I’d think of a topic. I’ve decided to reward myself with a free write, though I remember that I told myself that I could do these every so often. I set a specific frequency — once a month, maybe? — but I don’t remember it.

It doesn’t really matter, anyway. I already did the free write where I said I do too many free writes. In this case, I feel like I haven’t done one in a while, but I also don’t want to free write about free writes. That’s not interesting enough.

There’s an empty bottle of juice next to me. It was mostly mango, but there are some other fruits mixed in. Banana, maybe, is one of them. I love mangoes, but I really do like them in juice form. They’re easy to consume that way, which is how I feel about beverages in general. They’re easy to consume, and they give you something to do with your hands.

I left the tab briefly to scroll through Twitter, finding an article from The Guardian that I bet someone will share at some point in the comments today. (Then again, it went up yesterday, so the moment may have passed.) It’s Friday and the football team that brings us all here is coming back to wreak havoc after a two week absence, so I’ll confidently place the bet. (I know I got pessimistic in there for a second, but I’ll call it realistic.)

I think I’m hungry now, but what to snack on? Maybe some almonds, my most insignificant snacking choice. That does remind me of another ramble topic (of course it does!) that I forgot to write down a couple of days ago. It’s in the notes now. I still haven’t grabbed those almonds, though.

I shamed myself into getting some almonds by typing out that last sentence, but I saw a picture of ramen and you can imagine how much I want something else now. I have no spite for the almonds; it’s not their fault, and it’s also not dinner time yet. (For me, anyway, since I’m a late dinner eater.)

This is where I’ll leave off, before the weekend and the 500 word mark.

tl;dr: I rambled about almonds, unexpectedly.
