The answer to yet another trivia question is Son Heung-Min. The Tottenham star scored the first-ever goal at the club’s new stadium and now he’s become the first player to find the back of the net under new manager Jose Mourinho.
Spurs have been much better than a struggling West Ham in the debut match of the artist formerly known as The Special One. After dominating much of the first half, Son opened the scoring around 10 minutes from halftime:

While there wasn’t much special about the build-up with Spurs winning the ball high up the field, Dele Alli played a nice ball into the feet of Son to go 1 on 1 into the box. A nice stepover later and Son lashed a left-footed strike low, hard and into the back of the net.
Son has a flair for the important goal. No matter how this bold Jose Mourinho experiment pans out, he’ll always be the answer to the question of who scored the first.
