More great news coming out of that not-great match between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur. The BBC are now reporting that Everton are investigating an allegation of racism directed at Son Heung-Min during Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Goodison Park

There aren’t any details about what happened, but it’s not hard to guess that this probably took place after the incident between Son and Everton midfielder Andre Gomes that ended up with Gomes being taken to the hospital with a suspected broken ankle. I don’t know for a fact that someone in the Goodison stands shout out a racist epithet about Asians directed at Sonny, but I certainly would not be shocked if that’s what happened.
It’s not the first time that Son has been the target of racism from opposition fans. Back in May a West Ham fan was fined for calling Son “DVD.” This is after a 2017 incident, also by West Ham supporters, that involved the idiots posting a video on social media where they asked if Son “made DVDs.” That was bad. Today’s allegation is also bad.
I don’t have anything really to add to this and obviously it’s an investigation not an admission of guilt, but hey football fans, maybe just don’t say racist shit, even when you’re mad?
