We haven’t gotten a real update on Hugo Lloris for a couple of weeks, but Tottenham Hotspur provided one on social media and its official app this morning, and it sounds pretty scary.
Spurs announced that club captain Lloris, who injured his elbow against Brighton & Hove Albion, has undergone surgery after rehabilitation “found the elbow remained unstable.”
Following further clinical testing and examination, Hugo Lloris has now undergone surgery on his left elbow.#THFC ⚪️ #COYS

Surgery sounds bad, but it might actually be the swiftest course towards Hugo’s full recovery. The club said that he’s still on track to return to training in the early part of 2020, which isn’t much different than what we heard after his initial injury. So, yay, I guess?
In the meantime, Spurs have found themselves in perhaps unexpectedly good hands via the play of Paulo Gazzaniga, who has been very good since assuming the position of starting keeper. Long may that continue.
