it’s Good (news) Friday at Tottenham Hotspur! Hours after Toby Alderweireld signed a new contract extension at the club, Spurs released team news ahead of Sunday’s home match against Chelsea and announced that two players have returned to full training. Midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and reserve keeper Michel Vorm have both recovered from their respective injuries, putting them in the frame for game time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in an important match against the Blues.

Of course, there are still three players out — Hugo Lloris and Ben Davies are on the long-term injury list after respective injuries that required surgery, and Erik Lamela continues to be dead because breaks down sobbing.
I don’t know how feasible it is to expect that Ndombele will be ready to start a match in central midfield beside Eric Dier, but it’s not crazy to think that he’ll at least be on the bench. And that’s good. Midfield is still a bit of a problem area for Jose Mourinho’s side, and due to injury Tanguy hasn’t really gotten a good chance to show what he can do there. Hopefully he will — Chelsea are a good team that are on a poor run of form, and a win Sunday will have Spurs leapfrog them into fourth place on goal differential.
