We’ve already talked a fair bit about Tottenham Hotspur recalling new signing Jack Clarke from his season-long loan to his old club Leeds United. Today, the BBC has CONFIRMED-confirmed the recall of Clarke, but also reported that two other on-loan players will be coming back to North London at the beginning of next month: defender Cameron Carter-Vickers and forward Kazaiah Sterling.
Carter-Vickers was on loan at struggling Stoke City who care currently 21st in the Championship and looking likely for another drop. Cam had turned into a regular starter in the Potters’ back line but suddenly got dropped from the lineup and hasn’t played since the beginning of December.
Kaz played in the first three matches of Doncaster’s season in League One, scoring a goal, but hasn’t played a minute of football for the Dons since September 9. He’s gotten exactly 201 minutes of game time at Doncaster this season — not great, Bob!
While we’re not sure what’s going on with Carter-Vickers, the Clarke and Sterling situations are obviously not good fits because they’re not getting minutes. None of these three players are likely to get time in Tottenham’s first team this season, so one would think they’ll spend a few weeks at Spurs before heading back out on loan somewhere else for the rest of the 2019/20 campaign.
