The fixture crunch starts this week for Tottenham Hotspur as they prepare to head to Old Trafford to face top four rivals Manchester United. Spurs released their injury report ahead of Wednesday’s match and it’s the same as at the weekend — four players are still continuing their rehabilitation and will not feature against the Red Devils. That’s the bad news, but the good news is that there aren’t any fresh injury concerns.

It’s not surprising in the least. Lloris, Vorm, and Davies are all on the long-term injury list and while there was hopeful news about Erik Lamela at the weekend we haven’t yet heard definitively that he’s even rejoined first team training, much less gotten match fit.
I continue to think that Lamela would do very well as a Dele rotation option slash backup in Jose Mourinho’s tactical system and I’m kinda excited to see it, assuming Lamela can get over whatever hip injury is dogging him this season and get back into form.
