Son Heung-Min’s smiling face is on ice cream cones in South Korea

This is the best thing to happen this week.

It’s the international break, there are no Tottenham Hotspur matches until the 31st, and everything is terrible. But this made me smile. Apparently Son Heung-Min’s smiling face is on individually wrapped ice cream cones in his native South Korea, and why aren’t these sold everywhere, dammit?

Sonny already enjoys near K-pop levels of fame in South Korea — reportedly he can’t go outside without being mobbed. It helps being the best Korean footballer by a country mile and also the best footballer in all of Asia, I guess. And if you’re that famous, by god you deserve to have a sweet milk-based frozen confectionary treat marketed with your image. That’s just how this works.

It also comes in chocolate!

I don’t understand why these aren’t everywhere. They should be sold in England, and in the USA as well! I wouldn’t even eat it, I’d just hold it and stare at Sonny’s face until the ice cream melted and ran down my arm.

Who can look at it and not buy one? I tell you who: monsters. Or the lactose-intolerant, but we’ll give them a pass.
