No, he doesn’t score, but he has a hand in two of Denmark’s three strikes.

EURO qualification matches aren’t always interesting affairs. In fact, especially in these early stages, they can be downright boring. But that wasn’t the case yesterday as Switzerland hosted Denmark in a qualifier in Basel. Down 3-0 in the 84th minute, Denmark scored three goals late to mount an incredible comeback, eventually drawing 3-3.

And Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen had a big role in two of those goals. First he put an inch-perfect free kick into the box in the 84th minute for Mathias Jørgensen to slot home. Four minutes later, it was an Eriksen through-ball that found Yussef Poulsen, who got the assist for Christian Gytjaer’s strike to cut the lead even further. A Henrik Dalsgaard header from close range in the 93rd minute completed the comeback.

So an assist and a hockey assist in a huge comeback draw. Not too shabby! Here are the highlights from that match, and they’re worth watching.

I know Eriksen hasn’t always been his dominating self for Spurs this season, but he’s so, SO good and this is just another data point in the set. Whether or not he’ll be at Tottenham next season, we can always appreciate the quality that he brings to club and country.
