Eat food by Drinkwater.

Hi, Hoddlers!

I’m going to have cake today, and I’m pretty excited about that.

Ramble of the Day

Thanks to one of you lovely Hoddlers, I found out that Danny Drinkwater recently opened up a restaurant in Manchester. It’s called Foodwell, and at least part of it looks like this:

One of you also pointed out that this part of the restaurant looks overdesigned, and I’d agree, but I’ll let it slide. I’ve also decided that I’ll get over the name, because I don’t think “Foodwell” makes sense, but the people who Drinkwater and partners probably asked probably told them the name Testedwell.

Drinkwater also said that the restaurant was “a huge passion” of his on his Instagram, which means that I hope he doesn’t end up on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares or some equivalent since Gordon Ramsay isn’t doing that anymore. I’m sure he actually got into business with people who know the business, but I’ve watched enough Kitchen Nightmares to be wary of people running restaurants without the experience of working in the industry. (This might be a me thing, not a Danny Drinkwater thing.)

Regardless, the reason I’ll get over all of these tiny, tiny quibbles is because I took a quick look at the Instagram and menu of the restaurant, and the food looks tasty.

From what it looks like, they’ve got a deli, a proper restaurant, and a bar, all with relatively upscale food. That’s probably why the food is a bit on the pricey side, but that’s not exactly a surprise for this type of restaurant, or so I’ve found in my experience. The options look like a combination of special dishes made of ingredients I’ve heard of but don’t see paired together frequently at somewhat casual dining places, which is exactly the type of food I like.

On a whim, I signed up for emails to a place I don’t plan on getting around to anytime soon. I’ll find out if they’re pretentious, boring, or somewhere in between soon, I’m sure, and will happily provide the update. Either way, rambling about this is making me hungry; that mango chia pudding cup looks so tasty, and I actually am due for an afternoon snack. It sadly won’t be chia pudding, but it’ll be fruit or something, which I hope makes Drinkwater happy.

Hopefully this convinces some water company to put him in an ad because he’s proven he’s all about a healthy lifestyle.

tl;dr: Danny Drinkwater, restaurateur.
