England vs. Argentina is an intriguing match up. The Falklands War of course casts a long shadow over this particular rivalry on the men’s side of game. The two have faced off a number of times, though not at all since 2005. It’s a less... fraught rivalry on the women’s side, to be sure, with England the heavy favorites in this World Cup. Still, Argentina are coming off of a hard fought and deserved draw against Japan a few days ago and if they play well there’s a chance they could surprise the Lionesses.
The early games are also intriguing, though Italy vs. Jamaica is probably the one to watch if you can only choose one. Italy had a huge (and surprising) win over Australia in their first game, and the Jamaicans can make Group C REALLY interesting with a win today.
