Sky: Juventus considering bid for Trippier

Another club maybe wants the Bury Beckham?

I know we’ve written a lot about Kieran Trippier lately, but that’s because there’s been a lot of reports and rumors considering his potential exit from Tottenham Hotspur. (We should probably rename this blog Trippier Free Captain, which might also be an accurate description of Spurs’ roster come August.) But look, we go where the rumors take us and now there’s another report that says that Trippier could be the target of another, different Serie A team — Juventus.

Sky Italia is reporting that the Old Lady, already nearing a deal to bring an obviously unhappy Maurizio Sarri in from Chelsea to be their new manager, is also considering making a bid for the Bury Beckham as a replacement for Joao Cancelo.

Man, I don’t know. It’s kind of weird, considering the season he’s had, that Trippier appears to be the Tottenham player in the most demand from other clubs. This would be the third non-English club linked to him after Napoli and Atletico Madrid, and all of them are pretty stinkin’ good clubs that are perennial Champions League participants. That could be the state of the right back market this summer, or it could just be that Italian clubs see something in Trips that we don’t.

Sky Italia is hit or miss on transfer rumors (much like “proper” Sky is) but boy, there sure does seem to be a lot of smoke in the air around our current first choice right back, huh?
