Value your possessions.

Hi, everyone!

Quick question before the ramble: Should I watch the American Love Island, just for fun?

Ramble of the Day

Several weeks ago, I saw this image of Ben Affleck, and I felt the need to share.

I attempt to really hold my bluntness back sometimes; somewhat harsh, but not too harsh as to hurt people’s feelings is the middle ground I’m attempting to find at times. After weeks to essentially digest this image, and a little bit of time wondering if there is a way for me to not say this, I’ve decided that this is my opening take:

Ben Affleck, what is wrong with you?

I know the man has made questionable decisions in his life. Some might say half of his filmography, others might point to that back tattoo, and his obsession with Dunkin’ seems like a bit much. I’ve been a forgiving person when it comes to him, but mostly because I’ve decided I have very little invested; why would I care about his bad back tattoo when I only care about him so much? (That’s mean, isn’t it?)

His decisions have been scrutinized for a majority of his adult life, with maybe too much importance attached to them (sometimes). I do sympathize, really — but back to the point. This is easily a worse decision than any of the above and probably many other things that he’s done, and I am pretty alarmed by it.

I’ve dropped my laptop a couple of times. The falls have been small; off the couch, onto the floor, survived every time. The lack of damage each time made it easy to manage my own emotions, but I remember the first time I noticed a scratch on my laptop. I couldn’t stop thinking about it and touching it, bugged by it. I’ve gotten over it because I’ve decided scratches and scrapes mean it’s a laptop that’s experienced things, but I’m not eager to add more.

I get that Affleck can so easily replace a laptop, and that they probably mean nothing to him. I do have to ask, though: wouldn’t it be a hassle to actually replace it, considering there’s probably stuff saved on there? Unless Affleck doesn’t really have things saved on there — perhaps they’re all just backed up somewhere else, and he uses it more for Skype, watching Netflix, checking emails, and roaming the internet. Charmed life, I guess.

Anyway, value your possessions, Ben. They make nice laptop carriers, and it makes it easy to carry things in your hands if you have one. Maybe pick one up at the Apple store when you wreck this laptop and need a new one.

tl;dr: Ben Affleck made a terrible choice.
