Well, we can’t win ‘em all. News is breaking that Joachim Andersen, a young CB currently at Sampdoria and at least at one point a realistic transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, is instead signing... for Lyon.
Lyon & Sampdoria are right this second signing deal papers for the transfer of defender Joachim Andersen, according to @DiMarzio.

Andersen is a Danish international and highly regarded as a central defender, but as far as Tottenham goes he probably only would’ve become a serious option for Spurs as a defensive reinforcement if Toby Alderweireld had already departed out of the club. He hasn’t, so Spurs aren’t too fussed about finding his replacement, at least for now.
Although, I do find it amusing that Lyon, after reluctantly giving us a pretty damn good deal on Tanguy Ndombele already this summer, went ahead and signed one of our defensive targets. You could say it smacks a little bit of pettiness. I’m not sure I’d go that far, but I think it’s funny. It’s okay, Jean-Michel Aulas, we’ll let you have this one. “Pleasure” doing business with you.
