Are we having fun yet?

Tottenham Hotspur have submitted another bid to Real Betis in their ongoing attempt to pry Giovani Lo Celso away from the Spanish Club. Several reports are coming in, but Matt Law with the Telegraph hit on it first:

Time is running out, so it makes sense that another bid gets put in with about 26 hours to go in the window. Law doesn’t have specifics, but is confirming with his own sources that the bid had been sent to Betis.

Sky Sports has jumped in as well, specifically Editor-in-Chief Lyall Thomas:

Also, Sky Sports has a blurb on their live Transfer Tracker:

SPURS MAKE LO CELSO BID

Coutinho off, but Lo Celso on?

We understand Tottenham have made a new offer for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

The offer is believed to be worth €60m, with Betis valuing the player at €70m.

Lo Celso wants the move.If the bid is true, then Spurs are still playing chicken in hopes that Betis are the ones who flinch. Their valuations are still around €10m apart, and if Spurs think Betis are bluffing with recent reports that Atletico Madrid and Napoli are going to put in bids, then this is Levy still playing his game to try and bring the price down.

The long-running saga is going to end one way or another tomorrow afternoon, but it’s clear Spurs are still in for the three targets we’ve heard the most about in the last month: Lo Celso, Fernandes, and Sesegnon.

We’ll know sooner rather than later if this bid gets it over the finish line for the Argentine midfielder.

UPDATE (11:02AM ET): Add the Independent who have confirmed this report.

Spurs offered Betis a fee in the region of £50m plus performance-related add-ons earlier this summer, but The Independent understands the north London club have today improved this bid as they scramble to secure a third summer signing before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
