If one prominent Italian journalist is correct, Christian Eriksen will be departing Tottenham Hotspur for Inter Milan shortly. Nicolò Schira tweeted this morning that Eriksen’s agent, Martin Schoots, is in Milan finalizing Eriksen’s transfer to the Nerazzurri this month, and have agreed a transfer with Spurs in the amount of €18m.
Christian #Eriksen's agent (M.Schoots) are in Milano with one of his lawyers to fix the last details of the contract with #Inter. Total agreement until 2024 with nerazzurri, which are ready to close the deal with #Tottenham for €18M. Done deal #transfers #THFC

Italian transfer rumors are usually... uhhhh... suspect, but there are a few names you should sit up and pay attention to. Schira is definitely one of them. If he’s correct, it means that Spurs and Inter have had a breakthrough in negotiations, and it means that with the 2-1 FA Cup win over Middlesbrough, Eriksen quite possibly has played his last match in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt.
Quite honestly, it’s a good deal for Spurs considering the negotiating position they’re in with Christian at the moment. He could’ve easily stayed at Spurs another few months, left for nothing, and gotten a (slightly) better deal. That Inter is willing to bargain with Daniel Levy at all for a January transfer is good news, and while €18m isn’t a ton of money it’s still more than Spurs paid Ajax to purchase him 6.5 years ago, and more than I was expecting for him at this point. Inter are in a battle for the Serie A title this season, and may be thinking that having Eriksen available for the second half of the season would be worth the outlay in January.
As always, this is still just a rumor until it’s announced by the club. However, you can’t ask for a much better source from Italy than Schira. This definitely looks like it’s a thing, but we should know more soon.
