Report: Inter up offer to £11m for Eriksen

This doesn’t mean it’s happening, but it does suggest progress.

The Christian Eriksen to Inter Milan rumor mill continues to grind as we enter into the closing stretch of the January transfer window. According to Sky Italy (reported here by Sky Sports News) Inter are still negotiating with Tottenham Hotspur for the Danish playmaker to move to Milan this month and have upped their offer slightly.

Reports are that Inter is now offering £11m for Eriksen, an amount that includes does not include bonuses. That, however, doesn’t seem to be that much of an increase from the “derisive” £8.5m bid they made earlier in the window, and since Eriksen and Milan hold almost all of the cards it doesn’t seem that likely that they’re going to make any major concessions. After all, Eriksen can just say forget it and plod on to June when he can join Inter for free. Spurs are said to want at least £15m for Eriksen this month before they sanction his sale.

Eriksen’s agent, Martin Schoots, is reportedly in London negotiating with Spurs officials for the transfer, but don’t think for one moment that this is the end of it. It’s very likely that this is going to simmer for a while, possibly until the close of the window.
