I’m not sure how I missed this, but I did. The transfer window for the Women’s Super League is also open, and Tottenham Hotspur Women have seen a couple of changes already. Emma Mitchell was one such move, joining Spurs on loan from Arsenal, while Rachel Furness left the club after her loan to Tottenham was terminated, leading to her subsequent transfer to Liverpool.

Now we have another outgoing loan. Spurs Women announced on Friday that midfielder Megan Wynne has joined Bristol City WFC on loan until the end of the season.

Wynne, 26, was very much a reserve for Spurs this season. She made only 8 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions, with four starts and no goals. This loan would seem to be more about playing time than anything else — Wynne is joining a team in Bristol City that is joint bottom of the table with Liverpool and looking like a strong candidate to be relegated. if Wynne can go to Bristol and help them stay in the league next season, then it’s good for everyone.

Spurs fell to FAWC promotion rivals Manchester United 3-0 on Sunday, battling hard for a scoreless first half before conceding a brace to Katie Zelem and a goal to Jessica Sigsworth. The Women are currently in 7th place, comfortably midtable, and with a home match against Wynne’s Bristol coming up next at The Hive.
