Tottenham Hotspur’s business in the transfer window continues, though much of it today is expected to be loan deals for youth players in order to get them minutes.
Anthony Georgiou, who returned from loan this month from Ipswich Town, is headed back to League One as he joins Bolton Wanderers until the end of the season.

Good luck, Anthony! #THFC ⚪️ #COYS pic.twitter.com/6Py8aPGEr9
Georgiou, who is now 22 years old, didn’t have a great run at Ipswich. He played 489 minutes across all competitions but only started one match in the EFL Cup against Colchester United. Ipswich, who currently sit third and are pushing for promotion, didn’t have much use for him.
Bolton Wanderers are on the fast track to relegation, but that’s better than the alternative, which was administration back in the summer. They’re relying heavily on youth players and loanees, so while Bolton only have eight points after their penalty, this is a great spot for the utility left flank Georgiou. He should have ample opportunity to get playing time.
This will be his third loan in the last two seasons as he spent last season at Atletico Levante UD in the third division of Spain. Georgiou isn’t expected to make the senior squad for Tottenham Hotspur prior to his contract expiring next year, so this is basically a long tryout for him in order to get a permanent home somewhere else.
Best of luck to Anthony at Bolton! As for Spurs, we’re about seven hours from the window closing and we expect at least a couple more loans to be announced.
