More transfer news today, of the young-Tottenham-Hotspur-player-loan-extension variety! The club announced today via social media channels that 20-year old midfielder Jack Roles has had his loan at League 2 side Cambridge United extended to the end of the season.

You may or may not be familiar with Jack Roles, if you’re new to this website, but in addition to scoring goals he’s very good at other things as well.

He’s had a pretty good loan at Cambridge thus far. He’s not a regular starter but he’s featured in almost all of Cambridge’s matches this season in some capacity, scoring four goals in the process. From what I can gather, he’s become something of a fan favorite for the U’s, and this news seems to be widely welcomed by fans of both clubs.

Like we said with George Marsh’s loan extension, if there’s a young player who’s getting good minutes on loan at a lower level side, it makes sense to keep him there. This appears to be a good loan, and hopefully Roles can continue his development until this summer.
