That was nearly great. It turned out to be not. Firmino nodded home a free header off of a corner in the 90th minute and Liverpool escaped with a 2-1 draw over Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur. Son Heung-Min cancelled out an early goal from Mohammed Salah, but Firmino’s goal was the difference as Liverpool leapfrogged over Spurs to the top of the table. The killer schedule doesn’t stop for Spurs as they play a Leicester City side that’s now ticked off because they lost 2-0 to Everton as well today.
What a gut-punch. Time to rate the players.
Rate the players from 1⁄2 to 5 stars. If the player doesn’t deserve a rating due to minutes played, DO NOT RANK. I will round the stars up/down to the nearest half-star for the player ratings later this week.
