The Party Parrott will be in north London for the foreseeable future.

Our old friend over at The Evening Standard, Dan Kilpatrick, is reporting that 18-year-old striker Troy Parrott has signed a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur through the 2022-2023 season.

Parrott has committed to Spurs with an improved three-year deal, which he was able to sign only after turning 18 on February 4.

The teenager, who was on the bench for last night’s 3-2 win over Southampton, had 18 months remaining on his old deal and was attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Parrott has been one of the top prospects in the Tottenham Youth Academy for a couple of years now, along with Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga. The club is extremely high on him and see him as the striker of the future. There has been a hard push for a new deal in recent weeks but it only recently came out that the club had to wait until February 4 to have him sign the deal due to regulations on youth players.

There were reports that the club had been looking to send Parrott out on loan to the Championship. Queens Park Rangers, Middlesbrough, Preston North End and Millwall all had links to him at some point in January. In the end, we’ll see him on the bench quite a bit though José Mourinho hasn’t needed to use him. He’s also been very cautious with Parrott, saying he has loads of talent but is not ready to step into the starting eleven just yet.

For now, Troy can celebrate his improved deal and we can keep using the Party Parrott gifs for the foreseeable future.
