Happy Sunday, y’all. Everyone hunkered down, staying safe? I’m putting together a 600-piece world map puzzle this morning that’s fiendishly difficult.

Let’s continue our article bracket by returning to the Row Z regional. There are some really, really good articles in this batch. Enjoy.

Row Z Regional

FIRST ROUND

#1 — Don’t Let the Pigeon Sign with Chelsea (Dustin)

If I am known for anything on this website dot com, it might be this article, which I wrote as a fanpost before joining the masthead. I read the Pigeon books by Mo Willems to my young children probably hundreds of times, and this popped into my head during one of the bedtime reading sessions with my son. Hint: the Pigeon is Luka Modric.

#16 — Why Spurs should keep their best young players at home (Ed F.)

Years ago, we had a discussion series where various masthead members talked about Spurs’ youth development and what’s best for them — sending them on loan or keeping them at Tottenham to develop in-house. Ed argued for the latter. Funny how these discussions keep coming back full circle, huh?

#8 — The Transfer Target: The Cautionary Tale of Leandro Damiao (55thVin)

A couple years after the transfer furor over Leandro Damiao died down, Vin wrote this amazing fanfic piece, a mock interview with Leandro that talked about the near-transfer and his career since then. It’s total fiction, but it still pops up in Spurs forums with people believing it’s a real interview. I love it.

#9 — The Death and Birth of Tottenham Hotspur, Chapter 1 (Kim McCauley)

This is the first part of a multi-part fiction series written by CFC founder Kim McCauley. She started this to stretch her writing skills, but voluntarily abandoned it after the 2016 USA presidential election — apparently her fiction got too close to reality for her comfort. I still ask her every so often if she’ll finish it someday. Maybe she will.

#4 — Where in the World is Chairman Daniel Levy? (Ben Daniels)

Doo-wop, doot-doo-day doo-wop, doot-doo-day doo-wop, doot-doo-day doo-wop... BOWWWW

#13 — Tottenham Hotspur are a hot mess and everyone is to blame (Dustin)

I intended this to be a shortish opinion piece and it turned into nearly 4000 words and a fancy feature. I had stuff to SAY, man (and I think it’s better than Alasdair Gold’s article, which I didn’t see until after publish)

#5 — Your Team is Getting Relegated: Arsenal (Ben Daniels)

One of the high water points of this series was Ben’s takedown of Arsenal. The Yaya Sanogo crack especially hits home today.

#12 — Teams that have made the Champions League quarterfinals ahead of Arsenal, ranked (Sean)

Another article from the Short Fuse takeovers, this one still makes me LOL years later.
