Son Heung-Min’s goal vs. Burnley voted Best Premier League Goal of All Time by Sky voters

There are a lot of good goals on this list. Sonny’s is better than all of them.

No football means more general football content, and Sky Sports has been working on compiling a Best Premier League Goal of All Time feature, with the results based on fan voting.

Now, you might think that this is guaranteed to result in the Best Premier League Goal of All Time being a Steven Gerrard penalty kick, but in this particular case it’s better. Much, MUCH better. In fact, the results of this purely online fan poll are enough to restore your faith in humanity, because the Internet voted Son Heung-Min’s slaloming “Sonaldo” goal against Burnley this season as the best EVER, and the voting wasn’t particularly close.

If you need a reminder, here’s what Sonny did against the poor Clarets.

I mean, wow. I still get goosebumps watching that goal. 70 yards and a string of murdered Burnley players in his wake. It’s breathtaking.

The next best goal according to the voting was Wayne Rooney’s spectacular overhead kick against Manchester City back in 2011, a goal that I saw live and made me shriek and I’m not even a United fan. Other goals in Sonny’s wake include Paolo DiCanio for West Ham vs. Wimbledon in 2000, Luis Suarez for Liverpool vs. Newcastle in 2012, and a couple from Tony Yeboah from 1995. Look them up on YouTube, it’ll be worth the effort, and hell you’ve got nothing but time, right?

They’re all good. But Sonny’s is better.

Yeah, I know, put it in the trophy case, another big win for Spurs. I don’t care. That goal was magic and I’m glad it’s getting the proper recognition from football fans that it deserves. All hail Son Heung-Min.
