Carty Free Article Bracket: Say hello to the Elite Eight

Sadly, no nets to cut down for the winners

We have reached the regional championships of the Cartilage Free Captain Article Bracket. While Dustin is in the weeds at work, I’ve stepped in to get the voting up for this round. It hasn’t exactly been chalk all the way, but all eight selections are some of the very best we’ve written. Let’s get to voting!

Chirpy Regional Final

#3 — What Went Wrong at Tottenham Hotspur? (Skipjack)

vs.

#12 — Player Ratings to the theme of people in the background of this Dele Alli photo (Staff)

Skipjack was guaranteed an article in this regional, but to the writers’ surprise it was not A Christmas Tom Carroll, losing out by a single vote! The staff write-up making fun of Chelsea fans dominated Dominic’s top-seeded article to set up our final in the Chirpy Regional.

Redknapp Regional Final

#1 — Recurrently Generated Football League: Clood (Ben Daniels)

vs.

#3 — Tottenham’s new kit reveals the rot at the heart of the club (Skipjack)

Skipjack gets another entry in the regional finals by a single vote over Dustin’s computer generated ratings. It faces one of the strongest entries in the field in the form of “Up the Clood.”

Tom Carroll Memorial Regional Final

#1 — Sex, Drugs & Through-Balls: Life on the Road with Tom Carroll (Skipjack)

vs.

#2 — Recapping Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer window (Ben Daniels)

Straight chalk in the Carroll Regional as Sex, Drugs and Through-balls has run roughshod over the competition, but Ben’s incredible Jon Bois-ian piece on the transfer window is not going to be an easy competitor to take out.

Row Z Regional

#6 — In appreciation of Erik Lamela, Tottenham’s do-everything attacker (Sean)

vs.

#12 — Teams that have made the quarterfinals ahead of Arsenal, ranked (Sean)

I love Erik Lamela and his quest to murder a player on the pitch, so I’m happy to see that it has made it this far. What I didn’t expect was to see my trolling of Arsenal matched up with it here. It’s up to you to determine the final slot: Erik Lamela or Arsenal trolling.
