It’s been a long journey, and we’re nearly at the end.

This weekend would’ve been the Final Four of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, so it feels appropriate that we’re finishing up a bracket of our own here as well. The Cartilage Free Captain Best Article Bracket is down to its final four teams, and I gotta tell you there have been some surprises, including two #1 seeds going down that I personally thought were shoo-ins. But hey, this is why we “play” the “games.”

We’re heading for a what could be a pretty epic championship game, but could the upsets continue? Let’s find out! Time to fackin’ vote around a bit, eh?

FINAL FOUR

#1 — Sex, Drugs & Through Balls: Life on the Road with Tom Carroll (Skipjack) — Tom Carroll Memorial Regional winner
vs.
#6 — In Appreciation of Erik Lamela, Tottenham’s Do-Everything Attacker (Sean) — Row Z Regional winner

Sean’s Erik Lamela feature faces its stiffest test yet — a match against what has to be the top overall #1 seed in this tournament. Skipjack’s epic satire has stood the test of time (and got Carty Free blocked by Tom IRL on Twitter) but is facing a very formidable challenger. Who ya got?

#1 — Recurrently Generated Football League: Clood (Ben Daniels) — Redknapp Regional winner
vs.
#13 — Player Ratings to the Theme of People in the Background of this Dele Alli Photo (Staff) — Chirpy Regional winner

I am honestly shocked that the Dele article made it this far. Sure, it’s one of my favorites from the genre, but I had it second to the Short Werewolves article. Instead it just keeps knocking off everything in its path. It’s the George Mason of #banter; clearly it’s resonated with people. But does it have enough in the tank to banish the Lovecraftian horrors of Clood back to the astral plane?
