What with all the COVID-19 instability, Tottenham Hotspur are said to be prioritizing free transfers and swap deals for any incoming players this summer. Since fullback is apparently (and rightfully) a high priority, a lot of attention had been focused on PSG’s Belgian right back Thomas Meunier, who’s contract expires this summer and who is available on a free transfer.
Meunier was reportedly a top target for Jose Mourinho, but there are fresh reports out of Germany, most notably local paper Ruhr Nachrichten and corroborated by Sky Germany, which say that Meunier has now agreed a four year contract with Bundesliga side Dortmund.

Crap. Meunier isn’t a glitzy signing (not that Spurs are going to land any of THOSE this summer) but he’s a quality right back with Champions League experience who’d provide instant competition with Serge Aurier, if not outright replacing him.
Dortmund have also apparently locked down the signing of 16-year old England starlet and Birmingham City player Jude Bellingham, another frankly annoying signing. Those guys are making me mad today.
But now Meunier off the board, and it’s back to the drawing board. That’s a real bummer and I’m sad.
