Searching for chocolate snacks

Hi, all!

Above is froward Angela Addison, and below is a pair of great kits.

Ramble of the Day

I imagine I’ve shared this before, but I’m slightly bad at snacking because my tastes seem to change every few years. Right now, I’m in a phase where I don’t just have a sweet tooth, but really just want chocolate or baked goods all the time. The thing is that chocolate isn’t a filling snack, and baked goods aren’t always the best snack (I also don’t have cookies lying around, to name one example of a baked good). I actually got hungry writing this paragraph so I grabbed some dark chocolate covered almonds, but what I mean to share is that my weird snacking preferences have led me to become a bit of a chocolate protein or nut and oat bar connoisseur.

I started with Rx protein bars and really liked the peanut butter chocolate bars because it combined two of my favorite things and actually tasted decent. They were gooey in a way that I didn’t expect and not particularly chewy, but I did get bored of them at some point because that’s what happens when I try to find new snacks. I later stumbled upon the chocolate chip cookie dough Lärabar, which I initially anticipated would be too indulgent but wasn’t. It was less gooey, less chewy, and had good bursts of chocolate without actually feeling like I was biting into a cookie, which I actually enjoyed. I have some around now because they became a favorite snack of mine.

Then a few weeks ago, I saw some Clif bars that had pictures of Megan Rapinoe on the box. My sister told me they were the chocolate chip ones, and actually tasted quite good, so we picked up a box and they’re now my new favorite snack. The chocolate chips are large and taste good, and I liked the texture of the oat bar that finds the balance between crumbly and sticky.

Anyway, I now know a little too much about some chocolate protein, nut, and oat bars (I’ve also had the chocolate sea salt Rx bar, which I didn’t like as much but have put up with). We all end up with too much information on random things sometimes, but in any case, if you need recommendations, I’ve got ‘em.

tl;dr: I I know too much about chocolate protein, nut, and oat bars because I’m a weird snacker.
