The crazy start to the season continues for Tottenham Hotspur. After Sunday’s trip to Southampton to play the Saints in the Premier League, they play away to Leyton Orient in the Carabao Cup second round.
Now, they also know their third round opponent, should they make it that far. The third round draw just took place, and there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that they finally drew at home in a cup competition draw. The bad news is that they’ll play the winner of Barnsley vs. Chelsea.
The full draw is below.

These matches will take place on September 29/30, which places it in between Tottenham hosting Newcastle on September 27, and their trip to Old Trafford to play Manchester United on October 3.
Chelsea is a heck of a team to draw in an early cup round, so obviously we root for Barnsley to somehow pull an upset. That’d be nice. But let’s not count on it. And first Spurs have to beat Orient on the road. Based on today’s performance in Bulgaria and last season’s match against Colchester United, that may not be as foregone a conclusion as what we think.
