The PFA released its list of Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season nominees this morning for both the Premier League and the Women’s Super League. Tottenham Hotspur was not represented in any of them.
However, there was one award that a Spurs player took home. Son Heung-Min was the winner of the Goal of the Season award for his spectacular 80m run and strike in a 5-0 shellacking over Burnley on December 7, 2019.
"Luckily I scored this beautiful goal at home in a full stadium, even my parents were there!"

I know you’ve all already seen it, but it’s so good. You need to watch it again. And again. From multiple angles. And Tottenham Hotspur has you covered.
I mean, you’d like to think that there’s no way that any other goal could’ve won this award (though Son’s OTHER great goal of last season against Chelsea is also strong candidate), but considering the nature of these kinds of awards I confess there was a big part of me that expected the award to go to a Jordan Henderson penalty kick or something.
There’s not a whole lot to celebrate concerning last season if you’re a Tottenham Hotspur supporter, so my suggestion is that if you ever start to feel a little down in the dumps, just watch this video again. It sure has lifted my spirits this morning.
