Another day, another loan of a Tottenham Hotspur youngster to gain important first team experience. Today, Tottenham Hotspur announced that 18-year old central defender Malachi Fagan-Walcott is heading off on loan to Scotland’s second division to spend the rest of the season with Dundee FC.

Fagan-Walcott is a name that many of you have probably at least heard of — he’s an 18 year old playing for Spurs’ U23s, which should give you an idea of where he’s at in his development and how fondly Spurs’ youth coaches think of him. This is Malachi’s first loan, and a trip to Scotland to get kicked by grown-ass men is probably just what he needs right now to gain important first team experience. He also missed much of the season up to this point with an injury, so this is pretty critical for his development.
Dundee FC (NOT Dundee United, and yeah, I completely screwed that up) is a second division club in Scotland so hopefully Fagan-Walcott can step in and be part of the solution there. For a teenage defender, it’s a good loan. Hopefully he can get solid minutes for Dundee.
