It’s the end of an era — there is no longer a Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur. More than a year after Spurs parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino, his son Maurizio has now left the club, heading to Championship side Watford on a permanent transfer. The fee was undisclosed.
We have reached agreement with @WatfordFC for the transfer of Maurizio Pochettino.

Is anyone surprised by this? I’m certainly not. Part of me expected Pochettino the Younger to leave soon after his dad did, but he lasted more than a year longer. Maurizio didn’t look like he had much chance of cracking the first team at Spurs, though at only 19 I guess there was time for him to develop.
Tottenham obviously are fine with letting him go, and if he’s heading to a Championship club that means he’s probably got a pretty good future ahead of him, either at that level or maybe eventually as a Premier League footballer. We’ll see! At any rate, he’s a rare example in this window of a player leaving Spurs on a permanent deal.
Godspeed, Maurizio. Say hi to your dad for us.
