Boy, the Tottenham Hotspur news just keeps coming on match day, doesn’t it? There’s an official tweet from Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray today that states that they are in active negotiations with Benfica for the loan signing of Gedson Fernandes through the end of this 2020-21 season.

Official negotiations with the football player and club SL Benfica have begun regarding the temporary transfer of professional football player Gedson Carvalho Fernandes to our club.
This isn’t confirmation of anything yet, naturally, and sure it’s kinda weird that Galatasaray would put out an official tweet saying that they’re in negotiations for a player loan before it’s a done deal, but hey. There also hasn’t (yet) been any communication from Tottenham regarding Gedson’s existing loan at Spurs. That’s probably going to come at some point.
There’s been talk for a while that Gedson’s going to have his loan to Spurs canceled, either by Spurs or by Benfica, and nobody should be at all surprised by this. We wait for official confirmation, but it looks likely that we’ve seen the last of Gedson in a Spurs shirt.
Gedson seems like a nice kid. I have nothing against him. I hope everything works out for him.
