Tottenham’s Rehanne Skinner nominated for WSL Manager of the Month

It’s the first time I can remember

Tottenham Hotspur Women manager Rehanne Skinner has Spurs off to a flying start in the WSL with three wins from their first three matches and leading them to their current position of 2nd in the table behind Arsenal on goal differential. That’s enough to give Skinner a nomination for WSL Manager of the Month for September!

Skinner is one of three WSL managers nominated, along with Arsenal’s Jonas Eidevall and Aston Villa’s Carla Ward.

Spurs’ three wins were a narrow win over Birmingham City, a hugely impressive but controversial win over perennial title contenders Manchester City, and a dominant but slim win over Reading. It’s the second time Skinner has been nominated for this award; her last nomination came in December of 2020, just after she was appointed. Spurs Women’s former management team of Juan Amoros and Karen Hills won the award in September 2019, during the club’s first month in the top flight.

It’s a good reward for a hot league start for Spurs, and we’re not going to talk about or do any comparisons to Nuno Espirito Santo doing the exact same thing for the men’s side because it’s totally different shut up.
