It’s happening. According to multiple sources, Antonio Conte has landed in London and is currently at the Hotspur Way training center for the final round of negotiations. He is expected to agree to become Tottenham Hotspur’s next head coach, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo who was sacked earlier in the day.

It’s a significantly swifter process than the LAST time we were here this past summer, when Conte was also in talks to succeed Jose Mourinho, only to have the fiery Italian manager decide to walk away from negotiations over concerns about the scope of the project. Things have apparently changed, though, and Conte is expected to accept the position.
Why? Well, that’s the question. Some are hypothesizing that chairman Daniel Levy has given assurances to Conte that he will be financially backed to get the players he wants in for his tactics, including in this January’s transfer window. Others have (semi-seriously?) suggested that maybe Conte is just a person who must be in charge of a football club to be happy, and this is also a factor in his decision to reverse course and sign with Spurs.
if it happens -- probably won't! -- the best explanation would be that Conte has a brain disease and just cannot deal with not managing a football club for any length of time and said fuck it ok I'll take that one

Either way, under Conte we should expect Spurs to look and feel very, very differently than what we’ve seen over the past few months. It’s also early enough that, should the team respond favorably to his tactics, top four is not out of the question.
It’s not official yet, by any means. Lord knows we’ve been here before! But my goodness.
