Earlier this morning we reported on a rumor that West Brom are interested in bringing Tottenham Hotspur’s Japhet Tanganga on loan until the end of the season. It looks like it’s not just the Baggies that are interested in #TangGang.

According to the Athletic’s transfer tracker, we can add Southampton and Celtic to the list of Japhet suitors. Southampton are in the mix after their deal for their primary target, Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles, fell apart. Neil Lennon and Celtic are looking for another option due to injury and a struggling center back pairing.

I’m not sure if there’s a place I’d prefer. Soton would be nice because they play good football under a good manager, but it’s likely that Tanganga would be viewed primarily as a right back option. At Celtic he’d be played in what’s probably his preferred position of central defender. West Brom? Well, they’re pretty bad, but Japhet would probably get minutes somewhere.

That’s if Spurs want to sell at all. With Serge Aurier in the doghouse and Tottenham’s overall defense playing like dogs—t, it might be good to keep Japhet around beyond today. We’ll find out for sure in a few hours.
