Hello, all!

Did we know that Tottenham’s Spanish-language Twitter account calls Pierre-Emile Højbjerg Pedro Emilio? I think it’s great

Ramble of the Day

I come with a take — hot, lukewarm, cold, I haven’t decided yet: freshly squeezed orange juice is the only good orange juice, and the further away you get from that, the worse it is.

It’s hard to argue against the freshest variety, but the weird thing about orange juice is that the quality drops quite a bit when it’s no longer fresh. I find that to be unlike a lot of other drinks, like other juices — I don’t have the same issue jumping between fresh and packaged pineapple juice, even if I recognize the difference in quality. If we’re just talking citrus fruits, fresh grapefruit juice is obviously better than not fresh, but it’s not such a dramatic difference for me.

I also find orange juice worse with added sugar, and Hi-C, which is not orange juice and is just orange flavored juice that McDonald’s is bringing back for some reason, is worse. I don’t necessarily have an issue with orange juice, either — I buy orange juice with nothing added to it, and drink it occasionally. It just pales in comparison to the freshly squeezed juice. There almost isn’t a comparison for me; I’m going for something entirely different if I’m drinking orange juice out of a carton or drinking something freshly squeezed.

tl;dr: I think the quality of orange juice drops significantly the further away from freshly squeezed it gets, and that’s unlike anything else worth comparing it to.
