More good news! A few days after collapsing on the pitch in Copenhagen just before halftime of Denmark’s EURO 2020 match against Finland, Christian Eriksen out of the hospital and has been able to visit his teammates!

I can’t tell you how happy I am to hear this news. We all were witness to the near trauma of Eriksen suffering a heart attack at age 29 and nearly dying while surrounded by a ring of his Denmark teammates. The fact that he survived at all is a near miracle, and that he’s been able to recover, albeit with a device inside his chest that can shock his heart back to life if needed, is doubly so.

I don’t know if Christian Eriksen will ever play football again. My guess is that he won’t, but you don’t have to look past Daley Blind to find someone who beat those odds. I’m just glad he’s alive, is out of the hospital, and can hug his partner and kids again. That’s enough. That should be enough for all of us.
