Romano: Gollini medical and paperwork done, loan deal confirmed

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have signed their first new player of the summer. Pierluigi Romano is flying to London now after completing his medical in Italy and all that is left is the official announcement.

Gollini is expected to try and challenge Hugo Lloris for the top goalkeeper position at Tottenham (lol good luck), and his loan signing puts Joe Hart in a bit of a bind. There are unconfirmed reports that Hart has been told by Nuno Espirito Santo that he is not part of his plans, and that he would be battling with Alfie Whiteman for Spurs’ third keeper position. Who knows if that’s true or not.

Gollini is a product of Manchester United’s academy and spent some time at Aston Villa when they were in the Championship so he has experience playing in England, which is a plus. His loan deal is also pretty easy for Spurs to get out from under, should they decide that they don’t want to keep him around.

As always, we wait for the official announcement but this one looks in the bag.
