A few weeks ago, Tottenham Hotspur Women essentially gutted their squad, releasing 11 players from the 2020-21 team that finished 8th in the WSL last season. Striker Rianna Dean was one of those players. But it appears that Dean has landed on her feet, as she has signed with Liverpool Women for the 2021-22 season.

Read more about our sixth arrival of the summer:
Dean was a massive part of the Tottenham team that earned promotion to the WSL back in the 2018-19 season and was Spurs Women’s top scorer for their two years in the FAWC. However, she found life much harder in the top flight, only scoring a handful of goals over the past two seasons and finding her playing time significantly scaled back. She had only four goals in the WSL, none this past season, and found herself behind players such as Kit Graham, Rachel Williams, and Alex Morgan.
Liverpool has been under a lot of scrutiny recently for how they have treated their women’s team, but this is actually a good landing spot for Dean. She’s already proven she can be a volume scorer at the Championship level and I have no doubt she’ll get her shooting boots on again for Liverpool. She’s been a player I’ve enjoyed watching the past few years and I wish her the best.
