Zeno’s Transfer is finally finished. At least, that’s what Fabrizio Romano says, and let’s face it, he’s rarely wrong. Romano tweeted just a few minutes ago that an agreement has finally... FINALLY been reached between Tottenham Hotspur and Atalanta for the transfer of central defender Cristian Romero. The fee is said to be €50m + 5m in performance-based add-ons.

This feels like it’s been an interminably long process, but that’s probably only because we’ve been getting dribs and drabs of news over the course of the past couple of weeks and the constant transfer rumor grind has caused some people’s brains to melt. In truth, this probably isn’t much different of a transfer “saga” than most that happen every summer and people are just hyper aware now. But I’m glad that it’s done — Romero is a fantastic player and should be an anchor in Tottenham’s back line now that Toby Alderweireld has moved on to play his football in Qatar.

We will of course wait for the official confirmation from Spurs. When will that happen? That’s anyone’s guess. Romero probably needs to travel to London for a medical and to do the press stuff, assuming that Spurs don’t just announce it and deal with all that later. We’ll see. So it could be a few days before we get a photo of him in a Spurs shirt, but that’s fine.

Time to move our attention to the next prominent transfer target! Dusan Vlahovic, come on down?
