Hello, all!

At the top today is a photo from 1965 of Tottenham record goalscorer Jimmy Greaves, who died yesterday aged 81.

Ramble of the Day

It was a very nice night for Ted Lasso at the Emmys last night, which brings me to something I realized the other day: I adore Roy Kent, and I love saying it that way because I know this fictional character might hate to hear that.

I have really enjoyed the character since the start, when he was just a grumpy veteran player who did the work of yelling at someone I couldn’t yell at because he’s a fictional character. I know the character is written that way intentionally and I know the basis of any positive feelings towards Roy Kent is that he has decent opinions. I also think I’m a little bit naturally inclined to like a grumpy type.

tl;dr: I’m a big fan of Roy Kent from Ted Lasso.
