Last night’s bizarre situation in Brazil involving Tottenham Hotspur and Argentina internationals Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero seems to be over as the pair are heading to Croatia as initially intended. This comes from the Argentina Football Association as Dan Kilpatrick pointed out on Twitter.
#thfc Confirmation that Lo Celso and Romero will not feature for Argentina vs Bolivia on Friday and return to Spurs - but only after a 10-day training camp in Croatia https://t.co/OcW5IBZovn

Reports this morning coming out of Hotspur Way are that the club is furious with the entire situation and plan on fining the players. There’s a whole lot blame to go around in this situation where basically anyone involved with the match did something to add to it. Dustin has already given a fantastic breakdown of the timeline and what actually happened, so I won’t be re-hashing that.
As per the arrangement, Lo Celso and Romero will be meeting up with Davinson Sanchez in Croatia and train there for ten days. This eliminates them from selection for Sunday’s match against Crystal Palace and would be right on the cut-off for the Europa Conference League opener against Stade Rennes in France. It will assure that the players are available for a clash with London rivals Chelsea on Sunday, September 19.
We haven’t heard directly from Nuno Espirito Santo yet and how this will affect their possible selection, but we knew the club had this plan in place and at least it’s happening, albeit in one of the strangest possible ways.
