good morning!!!

Who here is ready for the FINAL HODDLE of 2023? We’ve had lots of ups and downs, and thousands of words many of you haven’t read.

Regardless, we sail off into the sunset of this year and into the other side of the horizon: 2024.

But before we do, we have to finish our countdown to fitzie’s favourite moments from this year. Here’s Nos. 2-5:

No. 5: Stellini at the wheel, Tottenham 2-0 Chelsea

No. 4: Lucas Moura ends his Spurs tenure in style

No. 3: Tottenham sign James Maddison

No. 2: Tottenham Hotspur Women 1-0 Arsenal Women

Are you ready for the best moment of 2023? Let’s get to it:

Fitzie’s Top Five Spurs Moments of 2023, No. 1: Ange Postecoglou joins Spurs

What other moment could No. 1 be than Ange Postecoglou joining Spurs?

I was thrilled when he joined the club. He was actually the manager I wanted most to join (Nagelsmann who? Slot what?).

Under Postecoglou, Spurs have been a club transformed. The senior and youth squads have been integrated and there’s a real definition in how the men play. It’s a return to the Tottenham we as a club have built our identity on.

For years I hated watching Tottenham - hated it. Now, though, it’s must-watch TV. And so are Ange Postecoglou’s pressers.

There’ll come a time when the sports media are less chummy with him (which I don’t like anyways), but even in the more serious questions he delivers honest answers. And he trusts the sports physios and puts the health of the players first.

I was so excited for the Postecoglou era to start. Even so, I didn’t expect it to go this well. There will be growing pains, but the fact that we are playing with such a strong identity only a few months into his tenure speaks so much into his ability as a coach and the buy-in from the squad.

We have a super fresh squad, a new captain and two new vice captains. But his style of play also resonates within the leadership of the group, enabling everyone from the top down to take responsibility.

Postecoglou is the best thing to have happened to Tottenham in years. I cannot wait to see where this journey takes us.

His joining Tottenham is the only option for the “Best Spurs Moment of 2023”.
