The good news just doesn’t stop coming out of Tottenham Hotspur circles today. On the heels (Gils?) of Radu Dragusin’s decision to join Spurs comes this — Cuti Romero is back and is hopeful of a return to match action as soon as this Sunday’s match at Manchester United!
That’s the story from Charlie Eccleshare in The Athletic (£), at least. Eccleshare writes that Cuti’s feeling good about his recovery from a hamstring strain that’s kept him out of Spurs’ last three matches. If he does return on Sunday it would be a week ahead of schedule, which means either Spurs are fudging the length of injury recoveries for its injured players, or the physio team has found a miracle panacea that’s more effective than blood spinning and horse placenta combined.
And with Micky van de Ven also expected to be ready to go by this weekend, it raises the possibility that Tottenham even could start the match at Old Trafford with its first choice defensive line, something that we haven’t seen since the Chelsea match. I don’t know how feasible that is, but it sure gets the ol’ heart beating a bit faster, doesn’t it?
It’s a good day. It’s a very, very good day.
