Last night we heard grumblings that Fulham might come in and make a late swoop for Scott Parker, even though Queens Park Rangers apparently had a bid accepted and Parker looked willing to consider a step down to the Championship. Apparently, there was at least a bit of truth to those rumors. John Percy of the Telegraph tweeted that Fulham have had a bid for Parker accepted.

Fulham have moved to hijack #QPR bid for Scott Parker. Hearing they have also had an offer accepted by #thfc. #ffc

It's now going to be up to Parker to decide his future if Percy's information is correct. Given that Fulham are weak in the center of midfield and the fact that England's midfield is a revolving door, Parker could opt to go with the Cottagers, since a World Cup place is very much within his reach.

Scott Parker's move from Tottenham Hotspur to Queens Park Rangers has looked all but done for most of Tuesday, but The Mirror think that Fulham is jumping in.

Scott Parker to reunite with Harry Redknapp? Not so fast, so says The Mirror. They claim that Martin Jol and Fulham are making a late bid to steal Sky Captain Scotty away from Loftus Road.

If this rumor is true -- and, you know, Mirror, so make of this what you will -- it's obviously going to be an appealing option for Parker. QPR are promotion favorites and Parker would be able to link up with the manager who got the best out of him in his first year at Spurs, but he'd also be dropping down a division in a World Cup year. A good season at Fulham could keep Parker on Roy Hodgson's radar screen.

Currently, Fulham aren't exactly loaded in the center of midfield. Derek Boateng was brought in to firm up a flimsy spine, but he's the only reinforcement that's joined in that position. Boateng and Steve Sidwell would be Parker's only serious competition for a starting place. As disappointing as Parker was for Spurs last season, he'd have to like his chances to beat out those two and become first choice.

Much like the rumored Tom Huddlestone transfer, it would be nice if a bidding war ensued.

When Gianluca Di Marzio passes along rumors, they tend to not go anywhere pretty often. His chance conversion rate is a bit better when he uses the word 'done'.

If Gianluca Di Marzio is to be believed, Scott Parker's long-rumored departure is finally about to happen. The Italian Sky Sports journalist says that Parker to Queens Park Rangers for £2m is done.

Details of Scott #Parker transfer from @SpursOfficial to @OfficialQPR: permanent deal (done) for 2 million pounds. #footballtransfers

Readers probably know Di Marzio best for the transfer rumors he passes along regularly, usually involving Serie A clubs or players who currently play in Serie A. Occasionally he's the first guy to get a story, but more often than that, the stuff he reports doesn't come to fruition. Such is the life of a guy running with transfer info early in negotiations.

However, even these types of journos generally don't use the word 'done' unless they're pretty sure that a deal is done. We're still calling this a rumor, but don't be too shocked if some sort of announcement comes from one of the teams this week. This deal has been reported for a long time.

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to take a loss on Scott Parker to ship him out the door this summer. Queens Park Rangers look like the most likely suitors.

Scott Parker is cool. He has absolutely gorgeous hair. He looks like some combination of the out of shape in shape guy from the 50s and a RAF pilot from World War II. He had a great first season at Spurs under Harry Redknapp and even while he wasn't at his best last season, he was working his tail off and giving everything for the team. Unfortunately, that's not quite good enough to win him a spot in next year's squad.

On top of not being very good at all last season, Parker is also going to turn 33 in the fall. Time is running out for Spurs to get any kind of fee for him, so it appears that he'll be moving on. According to The Guardian, his asking price is £2m and Queens Park Rangers are the team most likely to capture his signature.

Though Parker is almost certainly good enough to play a part for a Premier League team next season, this isn't surprising. QPR are out of dire financial straits after they got Anzhi to take back Christopher Samba, and they'll make some decent money off the sale of Loic Remy, provided he avoids criminal charges after he was arrested on suspicion of rape back in May. They'll pay Parker good wages and he'll start for a manager that loves him, on a team that could have a chance to go back up to the Premier League.

This seems like a good, sensible move for Spurs, Parker and QPR. I wouldn't be shocked to see more come of this shortly.
