Nacer Chadli picked up a hip injury on Belgium duty, putting a scare into Spurs fans, but Tottenham Hotspur's medical staff seem to think he has a decent chance of playing at the weekend. The Daily Mail has an update on Chadli's condition, saying Spurs have been evaluating him and think he'll be able to get fit by Saturday.
Spurs medical staff are making daily checks on the forward, the club's top goalscorer this season with four goals, in a bid to get him fit for the trip to the Etihad Stadium. Tottenham are hopeful the forward will prove his fitness ahead of the clash against the champions - but will leave a decision on his availability as late as possible.
It seems unlikely that Spurs would risk Chadli unless he was completely fit, so this is good to hear. But we're unlikely to know for sure whether or not Chadli can play until we see the lineup.
This means that Mauricio Pochettino needs to keep someone in mind for that spot, and it's anyone's guess who that is. Harry Kane, Andros Townsend and Aaron Lennon are the not-so-ideal candidates. Who do you want to see if Chadli can't play?
