Tottenham Hotspur announce DeAndre Yedlin signing

We've known that Tottenham Hotspur were going to sign DeAndre Yedlin for more than week now, but it's finally official. The club have announced that they have an agreement with the Seattle Sounders for his transfer.

Yedlin will stay with the Sounders until at least the end of this MLS season, but who knows when he'll join up! Tottenham and Seattle's social media people misunderstood when he's coming over. One of them is just wrong or got bad info.

My assumption is that Yedlin will leave Seattle at the end of the MLS season, at which point he'll join up with Spurs. Unless we have an injury crisis, he'll probably be loaned out at that time, then have a chance to win a first team place in the summer of 2015.

For those unfamiliar with Yedlin, he was a surprise selection for the United States World Cup team and an even more surprising contributor to their run to the knockout stage. The 21-year-old is in his second season as the first choice right back for the Sounders.
