Spurs sell Michael Dawson to Hull

We will miss you, Daws.

It's official: Michael Dawson is no longer a member of Tottenham Hotspur.

Hull City have confirmed that they bought Dawson from Spurs, ending the central defender's nine-year stay at White Hart Lane. The deal had been on the verge of happening for days, with Hull manager Steve Bruce confirming that they ha agreed to a deal with Spurs over the weekend. All that was left was finalizing personal terms and passing the medical, which has been done.

The Tigers will reportedly pay £8 million for Dawson, which is highway robbery by Spurs. The 30-year-old defender wasn't going to be a part of Tottenham's plans and, frankly, hasn't been remotely good for a couple of years. He's not worth £8 million by any stretch, let alone when being bought from a team that has no use for him. From a financial and squad perspective, Daniel Levy and Co. did a masterful job.

But as much as it is time for Dawson to move on, it is sad to see him go. He has been a loyal member of the club for years, with an attitude and commitment that was second to none. As a person, the worst thing a Spur could say about Dawson is he had terrible fashion sense.

It is time for Dawson to go, but we will still miss him. Best of luck at Hull, Daws. You deserve nothing but the best.
